What is the Wekiva Parkway Expansion?
The Wekiva Parkway, also known as State Road 429, is a stretch of highway that will connect with SR417 and form a beltway around Central Florida. This new tollway is meant as an alternative for I-4 and to help relieve traffic and congestion on US 441 and SR 46. The Wekiva Parkway will be the first expressway in Central Florida to feature All Electronic Tolling. This means there will be no toll plazas so motorists will not need cash. No more slowing down or stopping to pay tolls.
This project is being completed in sections. There are 4 sections which will run through Seminole county; Sections 6, 7A, 7B, and 8.
